Cyrix/IBM 6x86 family CPUs and Linux 2.x kernels

The purpose of these pages is to provide information on the use of 6x86 family processors (the 6x86, 6x86L and 6x86MX processors) together with the various Linux 2.x kernels. Cyrix/IBM 6x86 processors should provide adequate performance and reliable operation under GNU/Linux by default (i.e. you should always manage to boot the default Linux kernel that came with your GNU/Linux distribution). However, optimization for maximum performance and cool, reliable operation with a 6x86 family CPU can take some fine-tuning.
